What a rush!

I must go again! Skydiving is awesome. My husband and sons did not want to go so I left home a bit hurt that no one wanted to come and support me but oh well.
I arrived at the hanger at noon on Sunday. I always feel a bit shy when I am out of my element but a gentleman spied me and instantly made me feel at home and we got started with the process. I had to watch a video that explained what would be expected of me and what the process of tandem diving would entail. I then signed my life away - stating that if I had a fatal accident they would in no way be responsible -
There were a lot of people at the hanger. I met two of the people that were tandem diving also. They would be in the same "load" as I. We had to listen to another instructor tell us the same thing that was on the video. We sat in chairs outside of the hanger and watched several groups dive in. Some were experts and others were getting the number of dives in to become certified. I was not nervous the whole time.
My tandem guy came up and introduced himself. Very nice and goodlooking - that was all my girlfriends concern - not that I wouldn't go splat but that I have a good looking guy that I would be strapped to - well he was! Another gentleman suited me up and got me fitted with goggles, cap and gloves. My cameraman then asked me several questions. Then my tandem guy told me he was going up real quick to monitor a dive. We were headed to the plane when he caught up with me.
The plane had two long benches down the middle. He said we would be the first to jump so we were the last in the plane except for the cameramen. He went in ahead of me and then I sat in front of him. He strapped me to himself and then we went over what would happen during the dive.
We reached altitude and the door open and out we went. What a rush! I loved it. The view was awesome and he did several spiral moves one the chute had been deployed. It was over all to fast.
I left there not believing I had actually skydived - I will go again this weekend if the weather is good. They will be closing it off to tandem divers soon due to winter and I wouldn't get the chance again until next winter.
Next - whitewater rafting....
